Advice for my FAVORITE daughter
Be my best friend – this way I can be the first to know when I need to give you a hand and pull you out of the water. And no, I’m not talking about water skiing. I am talking about the murky waters that you might step into, while walking through life.
Expect less from other people and be pleasantly surprised when you get more than what you bargained for. This doesn’t mean that you should socialize with scum bags while hoping they will become elite members of our society one day.
You do deserve the best, in my books, but you also need to do your best in order to get it.
Open your heart to those that love you and close it tight to those that make you feel uncomfortable.
Use your imagination. It’s the best tool for survival, acceptance and conquering your fears. In the most critical moments in someone’s life, those that have used their imagination and didn’t quit, survived the storm and moved on. Remember, fear and panic are the worst enemies but if you rely on your imagination, you will be able to find a solution.
Respect those around you and yourself. Keep in mind that unless you respect yourself, you can not expect others to do so.
Shut up every once in a while! It helps me heal from your daily abuse!!!!
Embrace challenges. Without them, life is dull. Challenge yourself and others and you will become a better person, you will learn new things and you will open up your horizon.
Live, love, laugh – ultimately life is about enjoyment and you can find enjoyment in your school, work, job, family and friends arenas. All you need to do is be careful with your choices. You might not get everything right the first time but life is a continuous experiment – ENJOY it.
Freedom is one of the most important aspects of our journey through life. Freedom is a given right. Make sure you don’t loose it or pretend that it’s ok to diminish it. Nobody has the right to take it away from you. Freedom helps you grow and reach your maximum potential. Without it, your soul would be crippled.
